A dimension is a degree of freedom of a system. It is like the number of ways or directions in which change can take place.
In our universe we can observe easily four dimensions. Three spatial (x,y,z) and one temporal (t) dimension. There is a fith theorized unseeable dimension. In total there might be up to 11 or maybe even more dimensions.
1,2,3 and 4, also a 5th maybe even 11 dimensions define our universe |
